Opportunities for Coaches
Erasmus Project – Sweden
Over the last six years, over 30 AM Soccer Club coaches have travelled to The Olympic Institute in Boson, Stockholm. This project is designed to enhance the coaches skill set and provide valuable experience that improves employability. This is a two week experience which also provides valuable life experience for a young person experiencing a slightly different culture and approach to sport.
Pro Youth Experience
Every summer, AM Soccer Club coaches participate in the planning and delivery of a professional training programme for talented players. This two week experience provides a detailed insight into the lives of professional football players. The coaching team benefit from exposure to the following experiences :
- Planning training, based on a chosen style of play and formation
- Delivering sessions for a high standard of players
- Coaching detail
- Analysing footage
- Supporting recovery sessions
- Filming matches
- Creating detailed feedback booklets/dvd’s showcasing each players performance.
Fife Elite Football Academy
AM Soccer Club is an active partner of FEFA and we endeavour to develop our coaches and support them on their journey in football. For those interested in Professional football as a destination for their career, we can pro-actively support this goal through our working relationship. In the same way that players strive to be their best, coaches are encouraged to flourish and benefit from following this pathway.
As AM Soccer club continues to grow, we make friends across the globe and opportunities for foreign travel become more prominent. In the last five years, AMsoccer coaches have benefited from fantastic coaching experiences in Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Los Angeles, St Menehould and Houston. Not to mention numerous visits to English Premier League Academies and matches throughout the year. New ideas and further opportunity are discovered in these moments and travel to new destinations develops the individual and supports innovation.
Internal Coach Education
AM Soccer Club runs a Coach education programme that supports our club ethos and shares key principles of play for each age and stage of player. The coaching team meet regularly to share their own views and experiences and benefit from sessions/ideas delivered by SFA Licence holders.
Strength & Conditioning
As part of our commitment to developing potential, AM Soccer Club aim to help it’s coaches understand best practice for the physical development of the players. The regular input of a Strength and Conditioning coach allows the coaching team to develop an understanding of what is safe when it comes to improving Strength, Power, Speed, Flexibility and Balance as examples. Knowledge on this aspect of performance allows coaches to give basic advice on preparation and recovery.
Every month AM Soccer Club invites a guest coach to deliver a themed session that brings a different style of coaching to the club. This is a very valuable part of coach education, as many new ideas can be shared and coaches can pick up practices or styles that they like and use these as part of their continued development.
The use of filmed sessions is becoming more prominent within the game and at AM Soccer Club, we realise that we can learn a lot from analysing our own coaching style and being honest about what you see. There are lots of great things happening but continued development is important for motivation and improvement feels good.
