A decent start by both teams with St Andrews having the first shot on goal which went past the post. AMsoccer Reserves soon had an eye for goal for several shots that were just wide of the post, a positive response. The first 20 minutes were pretty even until Gillon was slipped clean through on goal by Watt, with the resulting shot clipped in to the keepers hands.
On the 24th minute of the game St Andrews went ahead after a fresh air swipe by Brown allowed the opposition to finish well past the oncoming keeper. 10 minutes later, another defensive error, this time by St Andrews- the goalkeeper rushed out for a 50/50 and hit the ball straight in to Gillon's path to tap in the empty go goal for 1-1.
A good start by AMsoccer allowed them to start the half on top, again several chances missed which was a clear growing frustration to the teams composure. As a result, AMsoccer Reserves fail to defend a cleared cross from a corner, for the St Andrews player to fire low through the crown of players past the un-sighted Burt.
68 minutes in to the game, substitute Lambie pops up with the equalizer after terrific build up play by AM. With the home team again on top, a switch of play and ball over the top allowed Lambie to run on to the pass and lob the out-rushing 'keeper to make it 3-2. Frustrations grew for St Andrews with two players then being sent off.
A tough game that was well managed and seen out by the youngsters, final score 3-2 to AMsoccer Reserves.
